Many self-taught guitarists become frustrated by a lack of progress and give up, thinking they just don't have what it takes. The money spent on guitars, instructional books and videos, and ineffective guitar lessons all wasted. The time spent practicing incorrectly, watching YouTube videos, and traveling to lessons- also wasted.
I know exactly how you feel because I've been there myself. I threw away years of developing my guitar playing because I did not receive proper training. In fact, I once went to a new guitar teacher thinking I had it all together after 10 years of playing. On Day 1, he told me, "We need to start over." I was sunk. We literally started with the basics after my 10 years of experience with the guitar!
What Are Your Qualifications?
I meet a lot of guitar players who have tried at least one of these failed approaches with little to no progress in their playing. So, you can continue to 1. do nothing, 2. keep wasting time with online videos, 3. keep going to the teacher that is unqualified to teach, has no real plan for your success, and just plays their guitar during your entire lesson and throw your money away, OR

If you have 20 minutes a day, I will make you a good guitar player. If you have 30-45 minutes a day, I will make you a GREAT guitar player!
Isn't Being Great At Guitar Something You're Born With?
No. Some have more of an aptitude right out of the gate and learn faster in the beginning, but at the end of the day, it all comes down to commitment and consistency over an extended period of time. The majority of students I have helped do not possess a natural talent for guitar- we develop it together at my Fort Worth guitar school.
When you start taking guitar lessons with me, you will notice an immediate difference in your playing and realize that learning guitar isn't frustrating or overly difficult when you receive the right training from an instructor who is prepared, experienced in helping others become successful, highly knowledgeable about not just playing guitar but about the art of teaching guitar, and knows how to relate to you on an individual, personal basis.
